Hello, my name is Marty Rimpau, a 55 year old lover of oldies, and traditional top 40 radio. I love the hobby of d x ing, or long distance listening especially on the A M dial. I also love computers, especially listening to internet stations on line, and some of my favorite stations are zona from Mexicali which is a station that plays a combination of oldies, and album oriented rock, with Spanish commercials, and they have been on the air in some form since 2002, and another favorite internet station is 940 oldies from mexicali I put the direct link to the stream in because 940oldies.com is quite inaccessible for us blind people, but they came on the air in 2006, and they are owned by the same company that bought the 820 frequency, which zona use to be on, but they are now on fm at 98.3. Both the 820 and 940 frequencies are owned by a v c radio out of Mexico city, and zona 98 is owned by cadena baja california. By Now, you probably have figured that I'm a radio freak, and I always have been. I lived in southern california as well as attending the california school for the blind at Berkeley for eight years, and I also lived in the san joaquin valley where I attended college for two years. I love oldies, and especially the lesser known or obscure oldies, and you can see what I mean by going to my oldies page at oldies where I have an oldies list, and I try to bring those lesser known oldies to front, that either are seldom heard, or never heard at all. I am also slowly transitioning from windows to the mac, and although both operating systems are different, they both have their similarities, and I actually think that in some ways, the mac is easier than windows, but I am still learning bit by bit. I also went to the foundation for the junior blind and the braille institute while living in Santa Anna, in orange county, which is in southern california. For d x ing, I have a g e super radio 2, as well as a super radio 3, but I'm also thinking about getting an inexpensive radio for short wave soon. I love eating out in restaurants, and I also have a youtube channel, and my name on there is dxer0729. At first, at least for me, youtube was difficult to get around on, but now it is a bit easier, though I don't do much with my channel, because I don't know how to make videos.
